About Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC)

Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties. We connect individuals and families with the services and supports they need to thrive at home, at school, at work, and in community life.

What Guides Our Work

GGRC’s mission, vision, and values provide the foundation for everything we do. They guide how we create individualized service plans, work with community partners, and advocate for the people we serve.

This helps us stay focused on what matters most: creating inclusive communities where people with I/DD feel they belong and have the support they need to live full lives at home, at work, and in relationships.

Our History

Founded in 1966, Golden Gate Regional Center has helped tens of thousands of individuals and families across San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin counties. As one of the first in California’s network of regional centers, GGRC was created to provide lifelong services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with personalized support close to home.

Board of Directors

GGRC is governed by a Board of Directors that includes people who have an intellectual or developmental disability and use GGRC services, their families, community leaders, and professionals committed to inclusive support systems. Their guidance helps us stay transparent and accountable, and gives our I/DD community a voice in all we do.
