What guides our work?
At Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC), our mission, vision and values help us stay focused on what matters most to the communities we serve. Together, they explain:
- Why we provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)
- What kind of future we’re working toward with the people we support
- How we show up for the people and families we serve

Our Values
Golden Gate Regional Center’s values are shown through five key priorities:
Partnership
We build mutually respectful relationships with the people and families we serve, service providers, and community partners. We aim for diversity, understanding and equity. We listen, learn, and move forward together based on our mutual and united goals for the people we serve.
Honor
We treat people with dignity and respect. We listen carefully, value different experiences, and recognize the strengths each person has. We believe this work is honorable and important, and the people we serve deserve to be seen and supported as whole individuals.
Person Centered Thinking and Action
We value each person more than the system. We respect each person as the expert on their own life and identity. We listen to what’s important to them and what’s important for them, so supports reflect their goals, identity, and choices.
A Commitment to Learning and Reflecting
We are committed to intentionally learning and improving. We are self-aware and consciously work together to create a thriving organization that helps our community thrive. We support our staff in growing their knowledge, skills, and careers here at GGRC.
Innovation
We stay curious and are open to new ideas. We work hard to create better, more effective ways to provide services and support. That includes improving how we work, solving problems creatively, and finding new solutions that meet the needs of the people we serve, our staff, service providers, and our community.
